In late October, Hurricane Melissa devasted communities across Jamaica. This tragedy deeply affected the families and homes of many H-2B seasonal workers who come to Maine each year to help sustain Maine’s hospitality industry. Many of these individuals, people we work closely with and support through our immigration practice, are still in the United States and unsure of what they will return home to.
A coordinated relief effort, led by Wallesha Allen of the Portland Regency Hotel and supported by HospitalityMaine, the Maine Tourism Association, and Visit Portland, is now underway.
As an immigration law firm that serves H-2B employers and workers, we are joining in the effort to spread the word and to support the people and businesses we work with every year.
