Update on Travel Ban

In response to the federal appeals court’s unanimous decision to uphold the freeze on President Trump’s January 29th travel ban, the White House has focused its efforts on creating a new version, which could be released as early as this week. While the new executive order reportedly eliminates the specific restriction on Syrian refugees and exempts valid work visa holders and permanent residents from the ban, it maintains its target of the seven majority-Muslim nations originally named in the January 29th announcement.

We continue to caution non-US citizens to travel only when necessary, and to expect delays in visa issuance abroad (for those requiring new visas to re-enter the US) and increased scrutiny at ports of entry.
