The president’s Executive Order (EO) of January 27, 2017 directed that new visa screening processes and procedures be developed and implemented, which will clearly cause delays for obtaining visa interview appointments and the processing of visas, both nonimmigrant and immigrant, at U.S. consulates abroad. Until we have a better sense of how the visa issuance process is impacted, both in the short term and for the longer term, if you are in the U.S. in valid nonimmigrant status and need to obtain a visa at a U.S. consulate abroad to be readmitted into the U.S.,  our advice is not to travel at this time.  Even if you are not from one of the listed countries, we anticipate significant delays in visa processing, appointments and adjudications.  If you are from one of the 7 listed countries, you should not travel out of the U.S.
